Ephesians Chapter 6

Chapter 6

I am a child Lord, help me to obey my parents, to do the right thing.

You command me to “Honour my father & mother” & at the same time You said that, in Deuteronomy 5 You promised that if I am obedient, I would find that things go well with me & I would live a long life on the earth.

As a father Lord, teach me & help me to bring my children up correctly, training them and guiding them in Your ways. Help me to never exasperate them.

As an employee, help me to be obedient, respectful & honoring toward my employer, just as I am toward You Jesus, & let me be sincere in heart about this, on both counts.

Help me to be obedient, not just when they are watching me & I think I can impress them, but let me do it as a sincere servant of Jesus, whole heartedly doing God’s will.
Help me to do it with the right attitude Lord, because in reality, I am employed by You, not man, & on top of it all, I know that whatever good I do, You will do the same good for me no matter who I work for.

As an employer, let me treat my employees the same way You want them to treat me. Help & remind me to never threaten them in any way, for You Lord Jesus are my Master too, not just theirs, & You do not take sides.

Lord, help me to be strong in You & in Your mighty power; to actively pursue a life ruled by You; Your thoughts, words & deeds.

I pray that every single day of my life, You would help me to get dressed in Your armour Lord God, to enable me to stand & resist the devil’s schemes & scams.
Let me never forget Lord, that ultimately my struggles, my battles & problems are not actually with other human beings, nor do they stem from other humans. The reality is that all these issues are from the devil; from his agents, the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
That being the case, I need armour from God to be able to deal with the devil & his agents as they take issue with me every day.
If I don’t put on Your armour God, all of it, I will never stand up against him with any degree of lasting success.
So, Lord, to have lasting success, I need:
The belt of truth around my waist
The breastplate of righteousness
The Gospel of peace as footwear to enable me to go into any situation & bring Your peace
Also I need to hold up the shield of faith; total trust in God is all that extinguishes satans fiery arrows
Then the helmet of salvation – I know that I know I am saved!
Last but by no means least, the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word Lord God; I will pray Your Word, in the Spirit, led by the Spirit in all & every type of circumstance.
Once I am properly dressed Lord, keep me awake& alert & praying for all Your people.

I also pray for all those involved in Your work; may we never be afraid to present the Gospel to others.
Give us Your words to speak Lord so that we say the right thing; just like normal ambassadors are told what to say on behalf of their countries , we want to speak Your words without being afraid or embarrassed about whom we represent.

Lord, surround Your labourers with beloved & faithful companions. May they bring us refreshing & encouraging reports.

May all Your people be at peace & be overflowing with love & faith from Your hand, our God & Father & from our Lord Jesus Christ.

I pray for grace to all who love our Lord Jesus with sincerity.

AMEN!

Ephesians Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Father, show me, reveal to me what You are doing. Just like children who copy & imitate their parents, I want to copy, mimic & imitate You in what You are doing & saying, for surely Lord, You are the best example I could ever follow.

Lord Jesus, let me live my whole life; all my thoughts, words & actions with the same love that You had for me. A sacrificial & giving love, a love that is unselfish, for the benefit of others. A love that, like Your love, would be an offering & sacrificial love, a sweet smelling aroma before God.

Father, as Your child, as a Godly saint, I pray that You help me to never let there be even the slightest hint or rumour of any kind of sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity or greed in my life.

Help me to so that there may never be any kind of filthiness, obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking coming out of my mouth, for these are no reflection of what You have done for me Lord Jesus!

Replace all of these things with praise & thanksgiving; may my speech rather be from a mouth that gushes forth in praise & thanksgiving.

Lord I know that no immoral, impure or greedy person, better known as an idolater, has any inheritance in Your Kingdom, the Kingdom of Christ & of God. So help me Lord to reject all immorality, all impurity & all greed.

Protect me Lord, so that I will never be deceived by anyone, especially by anyone with empty words.

Protect me from these things Lord.

Protect me from the sons of disobedience& the wrath of God.

Protect me from ever becoming involved with them, from any form of partnership with them.

Thank You that though I was once darkness, now I am light in the Lord.

Shine Your light in all areas of my life Lord, let there be no dark areas as I walk with You, & as I seek to find out what is acceptable to You Lord.

As Your Spirit lives & works in me, I pray that His work would blossom like fruit in my life. That others would notice this fruit; the fruit of goodness, fruit of righteousness & the fruit of truth.

Lord I want nothing to do with the unfruitful deeds & works of darkness, if I do then I pray that You expose them so that we can deal with them.

Where others are involved in works of darkness done in secret, help me, in Your humility to expose the shameful end of such things.

May Your light so shine through me that all areas of my life are revealed, visible for all to see.

Lord if I am oblivious to certain things in my life, let me wake up to them, let me no longer try bury them out of sight of people but of course, visible to You; Shine Your Christ light on them. Then Lord, help me to take care of how I proceed to live from there on, not as a fool who would ignore Your guidance, but rather as a wise man, taking every opportunity to let You clean up my life & to shine Your light.

All my days I face so many opportunities to think, say or do something evil, help me to rather take that opportunity to have You shine Your light through me; to do what You would have me do, to say what You would have me say, in other words, to understand Your will for me Lord, every moment of every day.

Help me to control my intake of alcohol, there is no need for me to get drunk & out of control of my thoughts, speech or actions.

Instead Lord, fill me with Your Spirit so that in my ‘happy’ state I would uplift others with Psalms, Hymns & spiritual songs; things that would give us such joy so as to break out in our own songs & music from our hearts. That would be true worship of You Lord, as we give You our own heart music as thanks for everything God our Father, as we give You thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord as You speak to me through fellow believers, I will submit to what You say through them because I have total respect for You, Lord God.

As a wife, help me to submit to my own husband just as though he is You Lord. For You have made him my head just as Christ is head of the Church & Saviour of the body.
So Lord, I pray for two issues:
1.May the Church subject itself to You our Lord & Christ
2.In the same manner, I as a wife want to subject myself to my husband in everything.

As a husband, help me to love my wife just as You Lord Jesus, love us, the Church & gave Yourself for us, let me too give myself for my wife.

May I set her above all else Lord, treating her correctly – as holy. Let me pray for her every day & search Your word for Your guidance on how to treat her. For in so doing I give myself a present just as You do:
I get glorious wife; You get a glorious Church.
I get a wife without a spot or a wrinkle or any such thing; You get a Church without a spot, wrinkle or any such thing.
I get a wife, holy & without blemish: You get a Church holy & without blemish.

So Lord, I pray that You help me to love my wife as my own body. I do not hate my own body, no, I nourish, cherish & take care of it, just as You do with the Church; & I am a member of Your Church.

Genesis 3 says I must leave my father & mother & be joined, totally united to my wife & that we will become one flesh – it is a great mystery, like You & the Church but still, with Your help, I can achieve it.

I accept Your instruction Lord & I pray that You help me to love my wife as I love myself.
I accept Your instruction Lord & I pray that You help me to respect my husband.

Ephesians Chapter 2.

Chapter 2.

Lord, You made me alive when I was dead in transgressions & sins, in which I used to walk, the way I used to live when I followed the ways of the world & the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is at work in those who are disobedient – keep me from allowing that spirit to ever work in me again Lord.

I lived among the disobedient once Lord, I gratified the lusts & cravings of my sinful nature, following it’s desires & thoughts.

Like all of them I was by nature an object of wrath.

But God, because You are rich in mercy, because of Your great love for me, even when I was dead in transgressions, You made me alive with Christ – it is by grace I have been saved!

And God, You have raised me up together with Christ & seated me in the heavenly realms together with & in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come You might show the exceeding riches of Your grace in Your kindness toward me in Christ Jesus.

Thank You Father that by grace I have been saved, through faith. And even that faith is a gift from You God – Thank You!

I am not saved by works & so I can never boast that I had anything to do with it – all from You Lord.

I am Your workmanship God, what a privilege!

I am created by You in Christ Jesus & I pray that I would attend to the good works that You prepared in advance for me to do in Christ Jesus.

I remember Lord that I, a gentile in the flesh – called ‘un-circumcised’ by those who call themselves ‘the circumcision’, referring to that done in the flesh & by mans hands – I recall that at that time I was without Christ, an alien from citizenship in Israel, a foreigner from the covenants of Your promise, I was without hope & without God in the world.

But now, & for this I give You thanks Lord God, in Christ Jesus, I who was once far away have been brought near by the precious blood of Christ. What else can I do but rejoice & praise You for this Lord?

For Jesus Himself is my peace. Thank You that You have made us both one & that You have broken down the middle wall of separation.

In Your flesh You have abolished the enmity, the law of commandments contained in regulations & You have created in Yourself one new man from the two, thus making peace – Let this become a reality here on earth Lord – & in this one body, reconcile us both to God through the Cross & please put to death the enmity, the hostility.

Jesus, may we continue Your work of preaching peace to those who are far off & to those who are near.

Thank You Lord Jesus that through You we all have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Thank You Jesus that I am no longer a stranger, a foreigner or alien, but I am now a fellow citizen with the saints & a member of God’s household.

I thank You that I am built on the foundation of the apostles & prophets, with You Jesus Christ, being the chief cornerstone.

In You, Lord Jesus, may the whole building be joined & fitted together.

May we grow into a holy temple in the Lord, being built together so that You Lord God will dwell in us & amongst us by Your Spirit.

Ephesians Chapter 1.

Chapter 1.

Lord I want to be a servant of Jesus Christ, a messenger by Your will God, & to do Your will.

I pray for all believers everywhere; may we be faithful, remain faithful in Christ Jesus.

May grace & peace from God our Father & the Lord Jesus Christ, be poured into all our lives, permeating every area & aspect of our lives.

I bless You God, praise You Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, You who have blessed me, blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.

Thank You for choosing me in Jesus, even before You laid down the earth’s foundations, You planned for me to be holy & without blame before You.

In love, You predestined me to be adopted as Your son through Jesus Christ, according to Your good pleasure & Your will – I praise You & Your glorious grace by which You have freely accepted me in Your beloved Son.

Father I thank You & praise You that in Jesus I have redemption through His blood, my sins are forgiven according to the riches of Your grace God, Your grace that You lavished on me with all Your wisdom & understanding.

Thank You that You have made known to me the mystery of Your will according to Your good pleasure which You purposed in Christ; that when the times have reached their fulfillment You will gather & bring all things in heaven & on earth together under one head: Christ.

Thank You God that in Christ I have obtained an inheritance, I am predestined according to Your plan; You who works out everything to conform to the purpose of Your will, so that I, having trusted & placed my hope in Christ, shall bring You praise & bring You glory.

In Jesus I trusted & was also included when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation; Thank You Lord!

I also thank You that, having believed I was sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee, a deposit, of my inheritance until the redemption of the Christ purchased possession, me – I praise You for this God, be glorified in me. Every time I hear about others faith in the Lord Jesus & their love for all the saints, I will pray & give thanks for them; I ask You, God of our Lord Jesus Christ, glorious Father, that You would give to these believers, & to me, the spirit of wisdom & revelation so that we may know You better, to have a better & more intimate relationship with You.

I pray also that the eyes of our hearts & our understanding may be enlightened so that we may really grasp & understand what the hope is to which You have called us; the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in us saints, & that we may grasp & understand the greatness, the exceeding greatness of Your power for us who believe.

Help me understand that that power is like Your mighty strength & ability which You exerted in Christ when You raised Him from the dead & seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all principality, rule, power, authority, might, dominion & every name or title that can be given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

And God, You have put all things under His feet & appointed Him to be head over everything for the Church, for us, His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
